Applications are now being accepted for the position of Associate Director of Education – Instructional Services.
The Board operates a Catholic school system consisting of 125 elementary schools and 26 secondary schools with an enrolment of more than 71,000 students in an increasingly diverse community. With approximately 8,000 employees. We are one of the largest employers in the region.
The Associate Director of Education - Instructional Services is responsible to the Director of Education for the leadership, management, coordination and effective operation of instructional programs and services offered in 151 schools. The Associate Director leads a team of Supervisory Officers responsible for the leadership and management of families of schools, and system level instructional portfolios including Special Education and Learning Services, Program and Learning Services, Well Being and Experimental Learning and Learning Services.
The ideal candidate will bring to this position:
• ability to work effectively with Executive Council and the Trustees, under the direction of the Director of Education;
• ability to work collaboratively with the corporate and instructional areas of the board in achieving the system strategic plan
• an exemplary record of commitment to the Catholic faith and to Catholic Education;
• a record of progressive leadership experience, coupled with highly developed communication and interpersonal skills which have led to the creation of an exceptional learning community through collaboration and cooperation with all employee groups;
• demonstrated commitment to the mission and goals of the Board, particularly in the areas of student achievement and wellbeing, equity and inclusivity and financial transparency and accountability;
• a record of superior planning, organization, implementation and decision-making skills based on an understanding of the instructional and organizational needs of Catholic educational systems;
• exceptional problem solving abilities;
• ability to maintain strong collaborative working relationships;
• the ability to nurture and model creativity, innovation and accountability;
• demonstrated ability to build partnerships with parishes, trustees, Ministry of Education and other education partners;
• qualifications as a Supervisory Officer in the Province of Ontario and a record of excellence as a Supervisory Officer;
• Religious Education Specialist Certificate.

• six-month entry plan emphasizing the Catholic nature of our schools, student achievement, securing accountability and the strategic and system directions
• documentary proof of qualifications including Supervisory Officer qualifications and Religious Education Specialist Certificate
• three (3) letters of reference, dated within one year of application, one of which must be from the applicant’s Parish Priest
