The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPR) invites applications for the position of Superintendent: Human Resources and Operations. Reporting to the Director of Education, and working with a dedicated team, this position will have responsibility for the full scope of Human Resources functions within KPR (including Labour Relations, Recruitment and Selection, Staffing, Employee Health Services, Health and Wellness, Occupational Health and Safety, HRIS, and Organizational Design and Development) in addition to an operations portfolio to be assigned by the Director of Education. The successful candidate will assume the position by August 1, 2022 – or on a date to be negotiated in concert with the Board.

The ideal candidate will be a senior human resources leader from the Education or broader public sector, with proven experience in building system-wide organizational excellence and capacity, advancing innovation, championing equity, diversity and inclusion, and effectively engaging diverse voices across their organization and with external community partners. As part of the senior team, they will share responsibility for supporting KPR’s mission “to inspire students to excel in learning, to succeed in life and to enrich our communities”. As a leader, you will be confident, collaborative, strategic and empowering, and an effective communicator who is passionate about building a strong, sustainable public education system for the future. The successful candidate will possess (or will be eligible to obtain) Ontario Supervisory Officer or Business Supervisory Officer credentials pursuant to the Education Act. Professional credentials (such as CHRP or CHRL) would be an asset.

KPR is situated on the traditional territory of the Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg people serving three vibrant Indigenous communities which include Alderville First Nation, Curve Lake First Nation and Hiawatha First Nation. It serves a diverse and growing jurisdiction serving approximately 33,000 students in 91 schools across 7,000 square kilometers in the Municipality of Clarington, Northumberland and Peterborough counties, City of Quinte West/Murray Ward. The board employs approximately 3500 employees in both union and non-union roles.
