Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Education Officer, the Executive Superintendent, Student Achievement, Innovation, and Well-Being is a practicing, faithful Catholic and empowering leader with a strong vision for Catholic education. This individual provides leadership in the strategic alignment, planning, development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of all curricula, instructional practices and special education academic and clinical services. The Executive Superintendent oversees the work of the Superintendent of Curriculum and Student Success and the Superintendent of Special Services to ensure alignment of strategic direction to support student achievement and the development of staff capacity to enhance operational efficiency.

The Executive Superintendent is a champion of inclusive education and a strong proponent of relational leadership. With a focus on supports and resources that wrap around every student, the Executive Superintendent of Student Achievement, Innovation, and Well Being recognizes the classroom teacher as having the greatest impact on student achievement, and strategically aligns systemic structures, resources, programming and innovation that is intentional, targeted, and outcomes-oriented in support of student learning. With oversight of curriculum, student success and special education services, this role must promote a cross-disciplinary approach to instructional leadership development with a sensitivity to differentiating support structures to best serve local needs. The Executive Superintendent understands their impact on organizational culture, processes, and operational norms and is committed to disrupting existing norms, practices, and processes where required to support better outcomes and opportunities for all students and educators.
The candidate will hold Ontario Supervisory Officer, special education and religious education qualifications and be a practicing Catholic with a minimum of 5 years experience as a supervisory officer in a school board setting. The individual must demonstrate varied curriculum expertise and must be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
