About the Role
Reporting to seven elected trustees, the Director of Education will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction, advancing the Board’s Mission and its 2020-2027 Strategic Plan with a focus on Growing, Investing, and Engaging. As the spiritual and administrative leader of the Board, the Director will foster a faith-filled environment that integrates Catholic teachings into every aspect of school culture, ensuring excellence in academics, the arts, athletics, and beyond.

The successful candidate will lead a dedicated senior administrative team and staff, championing student achievement, equity, and well-being while building strong connections with parishes, families, and community partners.

What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a practising Catholic with at least five years of experience as a supervisory officer, bringing a proven track record in:
 Leadership and Vision: Inspiring a shared vision and creating a strong, faith-driven organizational culture.
 Strategic Planning and Execution: Leading complex projects, advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives, and fostering student success.
 Community Building: Establishing trusted relationships within the Church, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders, while building lasting partnerships across the district.
 Innovation in Education: Overseeing transformative learning models, including outdoor education, summer learning programs, and our Idea Lab program.
 Communication and Collaboration: Engaging with internal and external stakeholders using transparency, respect, and accountability.

Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
 A Master of Education degree, Ontario Principal and Supervisory Officer qualifications, and membership in the Ontario College of Teachers.
 Demonstrated success in leading bold changes that impact student well-being and achievement.
 A proven commitment to equity, diversity, Indigenous education, and Truth and Reconciliation.
 Exceptional communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
 A strategic mindset with the ability to oversee transformational learning innovation.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Education – Instructional Services, the Superintendent of Education: Family of Schools has responsibility for providing innovative leadership and administrative effectiveness within a family of schools in implementing board policy, appropriate curriculum initiatives, parent engagement, and liaison with parishes. All packages must include proof of qualifications including Supervisory Officer qualifications*, Religious Education Part III, four (4) letters of reference including a pastoral reference letter from the applicant’s Parish Priest, and one letter from the applicant’s current Superintendent/Supervisor. All letters of reference must be dated within one year of the date of application. Additionally, applicants must include a one-page Philosophy of Catholic Education as it pertains to the position sought.

*All applicants must have completed all modules and the practicum for the SOQP at the time of application and provide a letter from the qualifying body confirming the completion.
